The Diary of a Sweaty Person

Phew.....it is just hot and humid...Though I am born and grow up since ages in this tropical country; I too having problem with the humidity and whatnot. Not that I'm complaining; I'm channeling the heat and sharing my daily suffering in a very subtle way.hehe

I, one of millions of Malaysians (and the rest of the South East Asians); is badly affected with the humidity. Just now, I was in the church (attending Sunday Mass); I was practically sweating as though I was running in a marathon. I considered it as a reminder of how hot Hell could be (even worst) ; so I remained still and take it as a kind reminder from God. Hallelujah!

As I listened to the Readings and sermon; I reflect on the humidity and people around me. So, I brainstormed simultaneously along with the Readings and whatnot. Here are the outcomes:

#1 Deodorant/Perfume is a Must

Malaysian must have either one of these items; to cover up the B.O. that is produced from the sweat. To not to have either one is disastrous. Perfume business is booming in South East Asian countries because we have come to a point of no return: the point of discovery of what B.O. is. Unfortunately, most Malaysians failed to register this problem. Some considered B.O has a turn on or a way to chase dogs away...

#2 Black is Suicidal

Well, most fashion designers lamented that Black is the IN Thing. Wearing black coloured garments in Malaysia especially during the day is like killing oneself a long suffering death. Well, unless of course you are in the air-conditioned building like the mall, office and home. I like black too but it is very impractical with this kind of weather. Just wear anything light except for dark colours that will trap the heat.(now, I kinda remember what my science teacher used to teach in school...that Black traps heat.)

#3 What to Wear

I like to wear cotton made clothing. It adsorbs sweat easily and it is gentle to the skin too. I love jeans but wearing jeans especially those tight skinny jeans really need one to be determined and persevere and whatnot. Wearing long heavy clothing really traps the heat and I really salute those who are willing to do so. Ok.I am not saying to be semi naked or nude totally is OK.It is not OK. You can cause public nuisance and could be jailed for that reason.  I have to admit, as I grow older; I have to wear light and heat friendly clothes.

#4 Shower is Mandatory

As I was sitting in the church, I somehow imagined that if only; that right in front of me there is an indoor pool and all the congregation  would have to dip into the pool for like 5 minutes. yeah...if only it is part of the ritual..in this sweltering weather.haha... Point is, shower is a must. If you don't take shower every morning; you will smell like someone's feet or bad eggs... Thankfully, Malaysians shower 3 times a day.Yes, 3 times a day.I actually shower 4 times a day. After gym.

#5 Socks Must be Changed Daily

If you are wearing shoes (men, schoolkids, sportsmen); you need to have socks. It adsorbs your sweat and protect your toes. Kindly change your socks everyday, yes every single day,NO Excuse. I remember when I was in primary school, I used to have 2 pairs of socks and sometimes the same socks are used 5 days in a row. Whenever we are attending the Musical Classes, we had to take off our shoes. Pity the teacher, she has to endure the never ending suffering of smelling 40 pairs of smelly socks every single day! Once, my music teacher had reached her boiling points. She said that our feet smell like dead rats.No kidding! It does smell like carcass and 4 days old roadkill. Now, I do change my socks daily; and I have like 35 pairs of socks in my shoe-box.

I can talk alot about the problems and issues about the hot weather we face hear but never mind; perhaps I should talk about them next time around!

p/s: #5 includes underwear,bra,thongs etc...
