Ubud-Krisna-Tanah Lot-Legian: Day 3
We woke up early and I headed for the pool and swam a few baby-strokes(the pool is rather small actually)..haha...Had breakfast and as usual the staff were so accommodating and kind to us. For a small boutique hotel, I would have to say; they are doing a wonderful job in F&B department because guests are given 3 options of breakfast, unlike from where I'm from, most hotels would just serve us with fried noodles or fried rice or porridge. That's it. So, I had the American Breakfast (Omelette,Bacon,Fruits, tea and a glass of juice)
After breakfast, we strolled along the street of Ubud. As it is still early, most of the shops were still closed. One thing I noticed, it is quite difficult to find public restroom in Ubud.My bladder felt like bursting (after tea and juice)...yeah serve me right for not peeing before headed out. I was literally racewalking around Ubud and holding onnnnnnnnn and yeah finally I found one in Ubud Market!!!Hallelujah! That was the only phrase I heard from my cousin's mouth when I pointed at the public toilet..haha...So after doing my bloody business, we strolled around and headed up to the famous Ibu Oka's Babi Guling. For those who are unfamiliar with this dish, it is actually a suckling pig, a special delicacy by this family of Ibu Oka. It is divine!!! We promised to come again to Ubud and just to have this Ibu Oka's Babi Guling!
After that, headed back to our hotel.Got lost for about 10 minutes and back to square 1 and finally found the street we're from earlier.hihi...My clue was...ahh...saw this shop before...haha...My GPS...innate GPS...So, we checked out sharp at 12 and our driver was waiting for us. We went down to Kuta and went to shop to a place known as Krisna Ole-Ole.It's like a TESCO and full of souvenirs for tourists. I bought a few tote like bags for my cousins and siblings. I also bought 2 batik shirts(should have bought more..)
After that little pleasure excursion, we headed to Tanah Lot for the sunset. So, we reached there around 3pm and explored the compound. There are a lot of gift shops before you reached the temple compound. The view is to die for and it is worth visit! It is a must! So, we sat on the grass along with some tourists and just enjoy the view of the Southern Sea. It is magical and serene. No word could ever describe the view!
Sharp at 6.45pm, the sun fully disappear over the horizon.Heard some people were clapping..haha...anyhow, we headed back to Kuta immediately to avoid the traffic from the temple. We stopped by a supermarket called Bintang. It is a nice supermarket and found very cheap aromatic soap bars there(which I later found the exact soap bars at the airport and the price is 10 folds different!!).Again, I regret that I didn't grab any at Bintang Supermarket earlier.
We arrived in Legian around 8pm and we stayed at Tanaya Bed & Breakfast. It is a very clean and exclusive looking premise and it is just by the roadside. The room is clean and very modern looking(minimalist I think..the term they use nowadays..) There are tons of restaurants and bars around. Our hotel is located about 200 metres from the tragic Bali Bombing back in 2002. There is a Shrine erected by Indonesian Government to pay tributes to the victims. We had dinner at one of the restaurants after walking around for 20 minutes. The food was ok and affordable. Service is great and as usual the staff is friendly. We stopped by for foot massage after that..One thing lead to another, we did pedicure too! And I went all the way for another back massage!! The service is good and cheap!
I would definitely stay in Tanaya Bed & Breakfast again next time...for 2 nights!!That's for sure. We slept at 12.30 midnight!!Wish we could stay up and just hangout at the hotel's balcony and watch the crowd and enjoy the livebands across the street..too bad!
